Birthday Parties

Wow, it has been a few days since my last blog... Things just get hectic at times. But things are overall great! Karissa has now turned 6 years old. And we had the big party at Fun Expidetion for her and her family and friends. It was great. Loved the place, loved the games, loved not having to clean up the party! I will post some pics of the party so look for those.

Dreams and coughing...

"Nuthing" much new on the Mulkey page.. We are all still trying to get over our sickness. Some of us faster than others and some of us happier about it than others...
Tyler is being checked for Mumps since waking up to a swollen face and neck two days ago... But they don't think that is what it is... But are scratching their heads as to what it is...
Anyways, So I am back at work, still have the cough and the congestion. But I will get over it. No use in whinning about it.
My Karissa has been having bad dreams and it is always about a wolf or a coyote... This is the second time she has had one recently and I have told her that we are going to have to limit the amount of Narnia movie that she watches, especially before bed time. She of course didn't like the sound of that. But that is my gut instinct, she loves and I mean LOVES that movie... (Both of them... Part 1 and part 2)... I told her that its just a dream and that the wolves aren't really going to get her and that God and his angels are always watching her and protecting her and that is why he gave her a mommy and daddy, so we could help watch her too. So, for now we are going to stick to my plan and see how it goes.

There are seriously some things not worth doing over again. And Strep is one of them!! I had it 3 weeks ago, and now I am down with it again. Except this time I feel like I have Bronchitis on top of the strep. Oh well, life goes on... Wasn't there a song like that? Jack and Diane?? Yeah, I know so, I just can't think of who sings it... Well, today I went to work for just a little while. I came home around 1:30 because Karissa was feeling so badly. Her fever was up and I got a bit of motrin in her and in no time she was playing and laughing again.

She is so funny...She has been telling me all day "Mommy I really love you!" and I tell her I really love her too and she said a few minutes ago, that she loved me and I said I love you too, and her reply was "But, I loved you the first day I was born".....

SO DARN SWEET!!! Makes a hectic day seem so worth it!!!

Most of today was spent at the doctors office with two of our kids. (Tyler and Karissa)
The office was FULL of sick people.. In every seat, and even in the floor!!! Coughing, sneezing, hacking, Yuck, Yuck, Yuck, in every direction. If you weren't seriously sick when getting there, you were bound to be by the time you left! We got there at 11:20 and didn't get out of there until 2:45!

So, I have one with Strep Throat (Karissa) and one with walking Pneumonia, and another viral throat thing that I can't pronounce... Plus the doctor said he really thinks he (Tyler) has strep too, but the swab test missed it, so they did a better swab and are sending it to be tested and will call with the results. Tyler and I had just gotten over strep throat (about 2 weeks ago for Tyler and 3 for me.) And I sure don't want it again!!!

So, we loaded up on Popsicles, Ice Cream, and Soup... And the doctor says No Sugar for either one of them for 3 days, to help them get better quicker! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I said, I have a 5 year old with strep and no Popsicles for her, and he said no!!! In my head I was just howling, because he can't tell me that I can't give her something that would make her throat feel better! He is just one of those old time doctors that have wierd ideas about things...

So, simply put, I am taking care of the sick today, which is really wearing me down since I was up all night last night with Karissa crying with her throat. Hopefully I will get to go to bed very soon.

I will try to upload pics of Tyler and Karissa at the doctors office.. He was being his silly old self even though he feels terrible and she slept the whole visit, on her Daddy's lap. (so sweet)
